Embedded content from other websites
Pages on this site may include embedded content from other websites, such as videos, images, or articles. Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if you had visited the other website (e.g. an embedded YouTube video will play as if you had found it by searching on Youtube directly.)
These other websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content. We do not have any control over what third-party websites do with your data.
Comments
If you leave a comment on a post on this website, it will checked through an automated spam detection service called Akismet, which is part of WordPress.
Akismet will collect the data shown in the comments form, and also your IP address and browser user agent string, to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using Gravatar, which is also part of WordPress. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture will be visible to the public next to your comment.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on a post on this website you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again if you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

How long I retain your data for
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so WordPress can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
What rights you have over your data
If you left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data I hold about you, including any data you have provided to me. You can also request that I erase any personal data I hold about you. This does not include any data that I am obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
